Auto-Savior Devlog #1: Roadmap

Hello everyone,

After the announcements of Mağara Jam results, Auto-Savior has attracted a lot of attention and has been played almost 600 times. This attention brought me to create a roadmap for further updates and share it with you. I will try to write more devlogs while following the roadmap. You can follow my account to stay informed about recent developments and leave a comment if you want me to continue working on the game.

  1. Small improvements
    • Work level's collider consistency
    • Domovi level's player can fall out off screen bug
    • Custom cursor improvement
    • Sound effect for beginning dialog
    • Clarifying login screen level
    • Save system
  2. Soundtrack and SFX revision
    • Soundtrack was made in a hurry and I feel it doesn't sound exactly right.
  3. Graphical bug fixes
    • Canvas related sorting bugs
    • Unity related low-res issues
  4. Improving intuitiveness
    • Clarifying which buttons are clickable
    • Making clickable as many buttons as possible
    • Clarifying platforms
  5. Glitch feature
    • This one is the trickiest part for me because it is going to change the whole game
    • Glitches prevent you from clicking the object beneath them and if you touch them you die (of course it won't be named as dying but you will need to play the level again.)
    • They will enable me to have more control over solutions so I can design more complex puzzles.
    • Also, I will be able to add more platformer aspects so I can change the pace to keep the game fresh.
    • On the other hand, glitches may not comply with the art style or limit player too much.
  6. I will probably publish a build of the game at this point.

  7. Renewing menus
    • New menus consistent with theme
    • New font
    • Pause menu and in-game sound settings (I'm still not sure whether it would affect puzzles, though, because I should implement it as a platform.)
  8. Adding optional tutorial
    • I don't want to force anyone to play tutorial. They may want to explore the game by themselves
  9. Adding boss level
    • This might be about running away from Bonzi Buddy.
    • I'm not sure, though. There are other classic characters or I can make a unique boss.
  10. Adding new OSs with new mechanics, musics and bosses
    • If I can get this far I'm aiming to make Ubuntu, MacOS(not sure maybe with major changes and different name) and Android levels.
    • Each OS will have different mechanics mostly related to their popular characteristics.

And, that was all. If you have questions about the game you can contact me via e-mail, Twitter or comment section. I really enjoyed making Auto-Savior; however, to keep developing it I need support. If you enjoyed the game as much as me and want to support for further developments you can share Auto-Savior with your friends. You can leave a rating and a comment (feedbacks are highly appreciated). I also activated the donation section, it is still a game jam game I don't know who would donate but, if you feel like it you can buy me a coffee. Thanks for reading until here and see you in the next devlog...
